Born in New York City the day JFK was elected president, I spent my formative years in both lower Manhattan and London, England. My childhood home environment was quite toxic and traumatic. The patient and profound work of a therapist , George, who I worked with throughout my 30s, helped me expose the painfully wounded young child within me that I had tried to cover up with a mask of spirituality. The therapeutic process was so liberating that a deep desire arose in me that I may help others in the way that George helped me. In the late 90s, I moved to Boulder where I attended CU Boulder and earned a Bachelor's in International Affairs while working as a remodeling contractor. Almost a decade later, I attended Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara where I finished my Masters in Counseling in 2020. I have also been a yoga teacher and have a certificate in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, a body/mind modality created at Kripalu in Lenox, Massachusetts. I spent several years performing in the Boulder Improv Collaborative, and have also performed stand up comedy. More recently, I have volunteered as a grief counselor for Halcyon Hospice and had the privilege of leading "grief hikes" in the forests on the edge of Boulder where nature is a healing venue. My own journey out of a deep dark night of the soul informs my therapeutic approach which is kind, soulful, gentle and deep.
